STEPS TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
FOREVER

Do you want to change your life or something about your life like a bad habit?  If
so, this is for you.

I have to tell you all that I tried almost everything and nothing changed me for the
better until I met Jesus Christ.  Beatings by men didn't change me; jail didn't
change me; friends couldn't change me; money didn't change me; death threats
didn't change me; (well, maybe a little) my parents couldn't change me; fear of
dying didn't change me; almost losing my children didn't change me;  drug
addiction didn't change me.  Not one single thing did until I decided to follow
Jesus.  His undeniable love is the only thing that changed my life.

What are the
first steps of allowing Christ to change us?  We must hear
the word of God.
The word of God is of course, the Bible.  We 'hear' by going
to church or reading the Bible. (Luke 11:28)

Next,
we must believe in Jesus.  We must believe that the son of God died for
us on the cross and that he was risen from the dead on the 3rd day. (Romans
10:9)

Number 3 is 'repent of our sins'. Some do this in prayer by saying that they
are a sinner and asking for God's forgiveness.  What repent truly means is to turn
around or to turn away from sin.  That's where it gets tough.  God is patient and
he doesn't expect us to change over night but if you want to follow him, you must
be willing to try to stop sinning. God will help you with this. (Luke 13:3)

Confess Jesus before men.  Tell others about Jesus.  Don't be ashamed of
him. (Matthew 10:32-33)

Last, be baptized into Christ. This is done by immersing your body into water
by another Christian in the name of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit.  This is
the complete list for salvation.  (Acts 2:38)  If you have any questions about any
of these things,  feel free to call or to e-mail.  I'll gladly and eagerly respond.

Once we are baptized and we receive the Holy Spirit, we become a 'new
creation'
(2 Corinthians 5:17).  We get a second chance! We are washed
completely of our sins and it'll be remembered by God never again! Whew! I
needed a lot of washing!

Remain faithful until the end and you will receive the crown of glory!

If you aren't quite ready to do this yet and sometimes it takes many years
because of past hurts and trust issues for people to believe, God will honor your
willingness to try to change and he may provide the Holy Spirit out side of the
body to help you get to your life's destiny.  God is very patient with us and he
doesn't expect any of us not to sin anymore or to change instantly.  We are a
work in progress.  Surrendering your will and allowing others to help you change
is essential.

Once we do accept Jesus,
he will 'renew us day by day' according to 2
Corinthians 4:16.  He waits and he is extremely patient.  More patient than any of
us could ever be. Have you ever heard the old saying that 'Rome wasn't built in a
day'?  Neither does God expect us to become perfect as soon as we accept him
into our life.

This daughter of the King also had to use worldly help from 12 step programs,
counseling, work books and mentors in order to change but most importantly,
from the Bible.  You don't need to do this alone.  Church is also a great way to
learn wisdom on living a 'better' life.
